How We Evaluate Gold IRA Companies

Every factual claim on this site follows the same pipeline. This page is the contract we hold ourselves to; if you catch us breaking it, email us and we’ll fix the page and say so.

The data rules

  1. Every number traces to a source. Fees, minimums, and ratings live in structured data files with a source and date attached, and pages render from those files — figures are never typed into articles by hand.
  2. Unverified means unpublished. A figure we haven’t confirmed on an official source (the company’s own site, a regulator, a court record) renders as “—”. We do not repeat numbers from other review sites, whose errors propagate industry-wide.
  3. Ratings are labeled and dated. A BBB or Trustpilot figure is shown with where and when we saw it — and we tell you to check the platform directly, because ratings move.
  4. Tax and legal claims cite primary sources: the Internal Revenue Code (26 U.S.C. § 408(m)(3)), U.S. Tax Court decisions (McNulty v. Commissioner), and the CFTC’s fraud advisory — not summaries of summaries.

How we rank companies

By fit, starting with rollover size, because account minimums make most “top 10” lists useless to most readers. After fit, we weigh in order:

  1. Written fee transparency (including the spread — the cost most operators hide)
  2. Sales-agent compensation structure (commissioned vs. salaried)
  3. Buyback terms in writing
  4. Complaint patterns and how the company responds to them
  5. Educational quality of their materials

We do not weigh: celebrity endorsements, giveaway promotions (usually a negative), or the size of the affiliate commission — see the next section.

The money, and the firewall

We currently earn nothing from the companies we cover — we hold no affiliate relationships (Affiliate Disclosure). If we add one later, the firewall is structural and stays in place: recommendations key off the data rules above, not off who pays. The clearest proof is on the Best Gold IRA Companies page, where readers are steered by rollover size and told plainly when a company’s minimum puts it out of reach — regardless of any future partnership.

Corrections

Errors get fixed in place, with the page’s “last updated” date bumped. Material corrections get a note on the page. Report anything: hello@goldirakit.us.
